Level 3 Certificate in Leading Forest School

This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to lead a Forest School programme in your setting, so your learners can benefit from this approach to learning in nature. The course delivery consists of 8 days face-to-face initial training, which includes both theory and practical elements (some classroom time, and lots of practical sessions in the woods). You will then complete a learning portfolio, and run a trial Forest School programme in your own setting, with tutor support. The ninth training day is a tutorial day: you need to be able to attend all nine face-to-face days. If you work in a school or other setting, be sure that you have the support of your managers before undertaking this course.

For more information on Entry Requirements for this course, please see the Cambium website:

https://www.cambiumsustainable.co.uk/level-3-certificate-leading-forest-school

This course is accredited by Agored Cymru, and is a 19 credit qualification with a qualification time of 190 hours.

In addition to your Level 3 qualification, you will also need to undertake a 2-day outdoor First Aid qualification in order to lead a Forest School programme.

This course will be led in English. The Welsh language is spoken and understood, and interaction in Welsh is welcome. Learners can submit their portfolios in Welsh, and there will be no delay in doing so. We welcome communication in Welsh, and doing so will not result in any delays. Core course and training materials will be provided bilingually. We are working hard to deliver bilingual and Welsh-only courses in the future.

Special Offer for Gwynedd schools, nurseries and not-for-profit organisations:
